REAMP IN REAPER MANUAL
I read the manual and it seems like you should be able to have access to all 4 outputs at the same time, I have attached output description from manual.ĭoes anyone have a solution for this, I have found plenty of information about people having problems with output 3/4 but only one answer that was for Reaper. Re-amping is the process of taking a dry, direct recorded guitar signal and passing this through a guitar amplifier. This applies to the Scarlett, Saffire, Clarett, Forte and Red interfaces Re-amping is the process of taking a dry, direct recorded guitar signal and passing this through a guitar amplifier.
REAMP IN REAPER FULL
Obviously if its a critical source then youre not going to get full fidelity but you dont really have a lot to lose if your signal is clipped anyway. I found that I had to switch from "Komplete Audio 6 Main" to " Output 3/4" in preferences just to get anything to playback, the problem with that is now I don't have access to any inputs which means I can't record while using those outputs. Aside from audio restoration plugins which you may want to have a look at, you could try running the signal through a guitar amp/sim or some other reamp-based method to re-record the take. I use output 1/2 for my monitors so I tried using output 3 for my reamping needs. I had previously always selected "Komplete Audio 6 Main" in preferences for Windows soundcard as well as for DAW preferences, though I had never needed ouput 3/4 before.

Hit the record button and record the guitar riff performance.I am currently trying to start reamping which requires that I send the prerecorded dry guitar signal out to reamp di box, then the amp. In simple words, a reamp box is an audio converter that converts a balanced, low-impedance signal to an unbalanced, high-impedance signal. Open Reaper and go to “Track” = > “Insert New Track” and configure to record from your audio interface. Switch the gain of the audio interface to 50% of the maximum and make sure it peaks around -16dBFS to -3dBFS. The setup:Įlectric Guitar = > Audio Interface input (with instrument level switch on)
REAMP IN REAPER PRO
Some audio interface like Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 do include an instrument level switch button, so you can directly plug your guitar to its input without passing through a direct box. Set the input of the first on to Stereo: USB 1/2 and arm that track. This is the setup:Įlectric Guitar = > Direct Box = > Audio Interface microphone input (XLR) If your audio interface does not come with instrument level switch, you should be using a direct box to record guitars directly to your audio interface.
